Washington State Activities and Recreation Guide

In Washington State you’ll find great activities and adventures as well as stunning views and fun attractions. The varied topography of Washington includes the arid Eastern Washington as well as the mild climate of Western Washington. The Cascade Mountains divides the two sides of the state and make for a great hiking and skiing destination.

If you are looking for outdoor activities you’ll find activities that include skiing and snow boarding, backpacking, hiking, mountain climbing, biking and mountain biking, boating and sailing, kayaking and river rafting, and more. If you are looking for more scenic activities you’ll find drives among hills and wheat fields, tulip fields, vineyards, and apple orchards.

Washington is a coastal state with it’s own island group, the San Juan Islands, and also Puget Sound. The Olympic Peninsula is open to the Pacific Ocean and has it’s own coastal mountain range, The Olympic Mountains. The the north of Washington You’ll find the Canadian province of British Columbia. Many residents of Washington State travel to B.C. for recreational opportunities fond there. Internationally B.C. and Washington make a great destination.

Washington State Activities / NorthwestMTB started in 2003 as a local resource for mountain bikers in the Pacific Northwest.  While much of the information is archival you may still find it useful.  The Bellingham Webcams page offers current views and weather for planning mountain biking in northwest Washington as well as the Vancouver North Shore and Whistler.  You will also find border lineups and wait time information.
